I need a rescue, someone to catch my tears Falling aloud, breaking through the pavement Slipping through the cracks and holes, Leading to your soul I'm the only one who knows I swear I'll never let it show I look for you tonight Searching for your eyes between the lights A sparkle of gold, a call for rescue Are you finding your disguise? Or have you had a change of mind I need a rescue I need a rescue, someone to save this town The bridge has fallen down, the streets have come undone There's nothing left besides This trash can sun Are you standing around it, keeping yourself warm? Awaiting the dawn I look for you tonight Searching for your eyes between the lights A sparkle of gold, a call for rescue Are you finding your disguise? Or have you had a change of mind I need a rescue

Pray (Live) 04:01
I'm patiently waiting and then needlessly pacing And looking to the skies 'Cause my life's been changing so quickly lately I've lost faith in my mind I'll own up and say it I haven't been praying To the big guy in the sky But when desperate times call For desperate measures I'll give it a try I get right down on my hands and knees and I pray I pray and hope, I hope for rain A rain to wash my fears away Away down stream, a stream that leads Into the deep blue sea I've been counting my days up and by my calculations I think it's time to take a bow But where will I go when this show is all over And the curtain comes down? I'll own up and say it I haven't been paying For the sins in my life So I beg my forgiveness and hope my confessions Will buy me some time And I get right down on my hands and knees and I pray I pray and hope, I hope for rain A rain to wash my fears away Away down stream, a stream that leads Into the deep blue sea I pray and hope, I hope for rays The rays of sunshine to light my way My way up hill, a hill that leads Into the fields of green

You could spend your whole life Looking for someone to love Then two come along at once You could sail the oceans With your heart out on a hook And end up without a bite Love is like a deep sea We're swimming in the darkness alone But treasures can be found If you dive a little deeper down And if you rise to catch your breath You'll see the wonders of the world Before your eyes And then you'll realise That you know you'll be alright You could spend your lifetime Forgetting all that you have done And not remember where you've come from You could count your hours And minutes underneath the sun And wonder where the day has gone Life not a mystery We watch it as it all unfolds The clues are all around Like the pieces in a puzzle box And when they fit in place You see the bigger picture And you'll know, that you knew it all along That you're right where you belong If you walk down the same street You'll never know what's round the corner If you stay on the same page You'll never close the chapter If you bury all your dreams They may come back to haunt you So make the most of life And set your sights high

Let the sunrise over your tired eyes And the day will pass in time I will hold you close And I won't let go Until the midnight strikes and chimes I hope to God I wake up lying by your side As our world comes falling back I hope to God I wake up blinded by a light As our world comes falling back to earth We went walking through the coldest night And you held my hand so tight All the street lights flickered passing by And the moon hung silent in the sky I hope to God I wake up lying by your side As our world comes falling back I hope to God I wake up blinded by a light As our world comes falling back to earth

I grew up in a northern town but over time I've headed south And though I've changed along the way My thoughts of home will never fade Now I'm halfway down the road and it's too late to turn back now So if you want to take my hand I will give you all I can And if you want to stay tonight then lady lay down by my side There are things you can't replace like memories of younger days Throwing caution to the wind not afraid of anything Now I'm halfway down the road but it's too late to turn back now So if you want to take my hand I will give you all I can But if you want to leave tonight you know I won't be far behind I want to make a brand new start but leaving is the hardest part So I'll sleep on it tonight but I'll be gone before the morning light Because I'm halfway down the road and it's too late to turn back now It's too late to turn back now

We could talk for hours, we could talk for days But it's getting late and I really shouldn't stay As we say our long goodbyes, I make my way into the night And as I walk alone, I'll always think of you What a night it's been Oh what a day It all came together in the end There's one thing you can rely upon That it's all relative You can bet your life on it You will always have a friend I could listen to a thousand songs about love But there's nothing like the real thing So here's one for you, lets drink until we can't remember What we were drinking, what were we thinking We were drinking for What a night it's been Oh what a day It all came together in the end There's one thing you can rely upon That it's all relative You can bet your life on it You will always have a friend You will always have a friend You will always have a friend

I always keep a trick up my sleeve just in case I need it I've been gambling my way through these bars with holes in my pockets I gave it some time and when time came around I found I still ended up where I'd started And at the end of the night, as the whole town shuts down I always walk away broken hearted Love is a hard game to play Sometimes you think you've sussed it out but then you give it all away And those jokers will catch you out like an ace of spades Love is a hard game to play I'm laying my hands down, right where you can see them I've got nothing to hide, and nothing to lose I'm an honest guy, and that's my problem I keep telling myself that I'm not the fool But who am I kidding when I'm trying to play it cool I'll give it all up someday I swear, but until then I'll keep learning that Love is a hard game to play Sometimes you think you've sussed it out but then you give it all away And those jokers will catch you out like an ace of spades Love is a hard game to play Love is a hard game to play Sometimes you think you've sussed it out but then you give it all away And those jokers will catch you out like an ace of spades Love is a hard Love is hard Love is a hard game to play

Your heart is a mystery that I can't solve I Follow your eyes to see what truths they hold and Looking back I face the fact I tried my best to love you I never thought I could do But hearts they fall apart when they're Broken Your heart is a snow flake so delicate it Lands and melts away in lovers hands as Seasons change I feel the same I never meant to hurt you I never thought I could do But hearts they fall apart when they're Broken

I am just human Flesh, blood and bones I am just a figure A shadow on the wall The small steps that I follow From here to there and back With everything that I've borrowed And all I've ever had With every stitch and every stone I will stand tall But what if I can't, what if I can't Save the world tonight What if I, what if I can't Day one with no confessions Blindfolded empty handed Years on with folded arms and older vision We hide behind our eyelids With every stitch and every stone I will stand tall But what if I can't, what if I can't Save the world tonight What if I, what if I can't Would you feel something Would you feel something Would you feel anything at all

Sometimes a heart will break, sometimes that's all it takes To see the real truth, to find a better you Sometimes when I'm wide awake, sometimes I fall asleep I'm getting to old for this but I won't grow out of it I'll sing a song for a sad soul There's nothing wrong or so I've been told I'll make it up as I go along But I'm lost for words And my direction home Some people photograph, some people always last In others hearts and minds and never fade with time Some people never cry, some people ask them why They keep it bottled up inside and carry the weight of life Some people never change they only grow with age I'm growing up again, undoing my mistakes I'll sing a song for a sad soul There's nothing wrong or so I've been told I'll make it up as I go along But I'm lost for words And my direction home

about

On the 5th November I released my album Chapters at a fabulous independent cafe called The Art House in Southampton. It was a really special show and I'm grateful that my friend Adrià Smilges filmed and recorded the event. Thank you to everyone who came to support me and for purchasing your personalised copies of the album.

I was joined by some fabulous musicians too who I want to thank for playing at the show:

Dan Culling - Bass
Natasha Gibson - Piano
Luke Garnes - Percussion
Jack Dale - Slide Guitar

Tom Gibson produced, recorded, mixed and mastered the Chapters album at Blackhill Studios and I'm overwhelmed with how it sounds.

The album is available here on Bandcamp to download digitally or you can purchase the beautiful lyric and photo book which was lovingly designed with the help of Kimberley Garrod and Diguru.
Both the live and studio albums are also available to stream on most of the well know music streaming platforms.

This album is free to download and stream from here however if you would like to pay anything for it I promise to donate 100% of the takings to The Art House cafe. They rely upon donations to stay open and provide amazingly diverse music shows, arts events and community groups to the people of Southampton. We need to keep independent venues and cafes alive.

Thank you for listening to and supporting my music.
